Drew Ray, Owner
I was born and raised in Boston and moved to Braintree with my wife and two children in 2018.
I love creating things with my hands and solving construction problems with innovative, functional, and pleasing-to-the-eye solutions.
For years, I have hired general contractors and have been sorely disappointed. Time after time, they would cut corners with materials, or their craftsmanship was subpar. It was very difficult to find a reliable team that would be responsive to calls or even show up to work every day.
After 30 years as a union carpenter in Local 33, I decided to start my own business as a general contractor, and Drake Design + Build was born. I started this business 4 years ago and am so glad I did. It feels amazing to be the general contractor I could never find. That is what sets us apart from the rest. We are a family-owned business and treat our clients as such.
My wife, Vanessa, is the designer in the group. With over 25 years of experience, we have joined forces and now offer our clients interior design services. We can incorporate old and new pieces to create a seamless look and feel that fits your style.
Join our family of clients and let us build your dream home from the foundation to the fixtures.

Hear From Our Satisfied Clients
Drake Drywall did a great job helping us repair mold damage and shoddy construction from the previous owners. All interactions were positive, great communication, fair price, quality work. Will definitely work with them again.
Drake Drywall was great. Drew was very responsive to all questions and needs. People were here on a Sunday working till 7 PM so they could get the job done for me. Painters also had to come and paint the walls and everything was back to back scheduled so there was no delay in getting the project
Drake Drywall did a fantastic job. We had a ceiling made of foam tiles, which were terrible for our insulating the bedroom. Drew responded to our work request quickly and was courteous. He came over to assess the project to remove the foam tiles, replace the ceiling with drywall, paint, and put trim.
The ceiling came out beautifully. We had a bunch of water damage and parts of the ceiling were coming down. He carefully examined the issue and found a couple of other problems with the way our existing ceiling had been installed unlike some other contractors, who just took a picture from the doorway
The work I had done was professional and finished in the time frame as promised. The quality of work was beyond my expectations and I would never know that the wall or ceiling had been repaired as his work was seamless. It was beyond easy working with him and every call or question I had was answered...
We hired Drake drywall to hang two floors of a newly purchased house. They gave us an estimate of 2 days to hang the drywall and were done in one day! They were so professional and informative. They were more than fairly priced as well. I never leave reviews but I just had to commend these guys on a job...
